Thanks to an outstanding fish existence the lake is highly appreciated by fishermen. Once a month night fishing takes place.

The airfield Timmersdorf, located between St. Michael and Mautern at the foot of the Reiting massif, is well known amongst pilots from all over the world as an excellent point of departure for extensive overland gliding. Test flights over the upper styrian mountains allow beginners to experience the unlimited freedom of flying and at the alpine – sports flyers – club the secrets of gliding are learned from the beginning.
