Tree-top Hike Rachau
The starting point for this hike is Rachau, near Knittelfeld in the Mur Valley, high up in the forest where you can reach up and touch the spruce and larch branches. Broad meadows take you to the "Himmelsleiter" ("Jacob's Ladder"), which leads to a viewing platform.
Then the Tree-Top Hike, which is literally at eye-level with the tree-tops, begins, leading to 3 towers offering you a great view. The most beautiful is from Tower 27; the most exhilarating view down, on the other hand, is from the Skywalk, near the last tower - number 28.
