Best scenic view over the Styrian Erzberg by using the chair lift!
In summer the legendary “Polster”-chairlift takes you up to 2,000 metres above sea level in just 11 minutes on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. There you have a stunning panorama of the surrounding mountains, including the “Erzberg”.
Starting from the summit station of the “Polster”-chairlift there are various marked hiking trails to the “Hochschwab” region, a well-known and popular hiking area in Styria. The walking distance to the main highlights (such as “Frauenmauerhöhle”, “Griesmauer” etc.) is approximately two hours.
Especially in June, it is an extraordinary experience to go hiking there because it is the time of blossoming of all the alpine flowers such as Enzian, Petergstamm and many more. Along the trails, several huts and lodges offer traditional food and delicious snacks.
Having discovered the mountains you can relax at the natural pool on the Präbichl. It even offers a diving school. Other activities offered in the area are paragliding, mountain biking, climbing etc.
In winter the Präbichl is also known as a family-friendly, modern skiing area which is located between 1,000-1,900 m above sea level. It offers 2 four-passenger-chair lifts, 1 one-person-chairlift, 3 tow lifts, 1 baby lift, 1 magic carpet for beginners and 20 km of slopes for all levels of ability.
A total of 55 hectares of ski runs are garanteed snow due to the automatic artificial snow generating plant. Besides broad family-friendly ski runs and slopes for beginners at the “Grübl” area there are also challenging ski runs at the “Polster” area.
